Well, there’s many different therapeutic modalities and not all therapists are created equally so it’s really dependent on what you need. But as far as coaches go, to be honest, I think they are joke and not because they are coaches but because it’s so saturated and so many aren’t certified it’s like a word that has lost its meaning due to overuse. And for people who have health insurance it’s so much more affordable to go to a mental health professional.
This is exactly why I am doing my best to purify coaching culture. I'm saddened to hear that you think it's a joke. But understand that it has lost the weight to the word. It is saturated, it is a swamp honestly. There are a lot of grifters out there. But that is why it's all the more important to me, that I deliver absolute unequivocal value to my clients - to overturn the stigma one elated person at a time.
Now, while it may be more affordable to go to a mental health professional (which is a loose term), when people dont pay for something, they dont commit with the same effort. People see therapists for years and dont change. They can fall into the trap of validation keeping them spinning around the wheel.
I find coaches help people to step off that wheel.
Thanks for the response, it's invigorating to hear your perspective!
I really didn’t mean to offend. I know there’s good coaches and I think it’s great that people are trying to bring the credibility back. I, myself have a podcast and I debunk a of the spiritual content that has lost its meaning and is just helping people to bypass. I think our mission is similar!
Therapy definitely doesn’t just look at the past. Therapy gives you skills so you can apply them to your life to create a better future.
Appreciate you sharing your view Diana.
What do you think is the difference between them is?

No offence taken, we are truth dealers. I respect you for being forthright.
So it seems... Good luck on your mission, Diana!
