A really good post. Very practical and forward-moving with connection. I recognised myself in the part about parents divorcing and feeling I had to perform to please and be validated. The only part I’m unsure how to complete is the Mind Castle - what do I do there?

Thank you for your own openness and generosity of sharing.

Thank you for the feedback, Angela. I'm pleased that it felt practical and you were able to place yourself into it.

As for the Mind Castle, I will be doing a more in-depth post on it in the future.

You can think of it as a safe-haven for your parts. And also, think of it as your wider psyche.

When I first started self-journeying (I didnt call it that then!) i was just journalling and meditating in an exploratory manner. I had a visualisation of this castle, i was exploring it, opening different doors - which corresponded to different memories of my life.

The idea is that you imagine your whole mind as this castle, and exploring your mind is essentially you exploring the castle. As you revisit memories and heal them, the castle lights up.

Rooms which were once locked away, hidden and dark become safe and bright.

At its core, it's just a visual tool to aid the self-journeying process.

What specifically are you unsure about?
